 Eat local Think Global

Sustainable farming.

have you ever wondered how our grandparents and great-grandparents did not get sick so often or how they are still so strong, that may be linked to the food they were eating?

the food they grew where organically grown and did not use any chemicals the only fertiliser they used was manure/animal dung which is an organic fertiliser that doesn't harm the chemical compound of the soil. the food produced was healthy and chemical-free.

They depended mostly on rain, river water, etc for the water source to grow their food. They only grew crops according to the season which means they couldn't grow mangoes for the whole year it was only for the summer(sadly ☹️). That is because mangoes can't grow in the winter and can only grow in the summer or else it is not an organically grown mango.

They ate fresh food which is cooked fresh and eaten freshly, they did not eat packed food which has added preservatives which is not healthy for the body. They had local seasonal fruits which are freshly plucked from the tree or plant, they did not have tropical fruits which you get from other countries and did not have unseasonal fruits.

They stored many stuff using salt like pickles, oils, etc. Salts are natural preservatives but can only preserve a few stuff unlike others but are not harmful to our body.

Sustainable food diet

A sustainable diet is generally healthy and has a low impact on the environment and food supply. Adopting a sustainable diet can help an individual maintain their health while also ensuring the planet has enough resources to feed future generations of humans.

Ways to sustainably eat your food.
  • Eat the whole fruit instead of making it into fruit juice.
  • Make food just enough so that we don't waste any food.
  • Don't make food that you don't like.
  • Eat organically grown food.
  • Mostly cook your food at home rather than have packet food.
  • Eat seasonal fruits of your local area rather than having exotic fruits from different.
If you maintain all of these factors then you are ecologically supporting the earth and everything living on it.
